Mollie has been a visiting professor at Texas Lutheran University and has taught social entrepreneurship. She also speaks regularly with non-profit organizations about legal issues for non-profit organizations. Mollie holds a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and is a member of the Texas Bar. She earned a B.A. magna laude from Texas Lutheran University in English Studies/Communication. She was a Rotary Ambassador at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, where she completed postgraduate studies. In addition, Mollie has always been an active volunteer in the community and is a member of the State Bar of Texas Pro Bono College, where she donates over 75 hours of legal services each year. In addition to her legal practice, Mollie has worked with not-for-profit organizations in the areas of fundraising, grant writing and program development. She has served as regent of a university and chair of a preschool committee, among other honorary positions on the board of trustees. This experience provides exceptional service to clients, as Mollie provides practical management advice to their clients to help them succeed. Previously, she served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Exact. She began her legal career after graduating in law from Erasmus University Rotterdam and has spent the last 18 years between private practice and business. Mollie has announced her ambitious international expansion plans, and Célie`s role will be key. Prior to joining the ACLU, Mollie was an assistant district attorney in San Francisco. She led the lawyer`s work on immigration issues after the election of President Trump and, as lead counsel in San Francisco v. Trump, she successfully challenged President Trump`s executive order to punish sanctuary cities. Mollie was also a key member of the City Attorney`s Marriage Equality Team, advocating the federal challenge to the Proposition 8 lawsuit at the U.S. Supreme Court. In other cases, Mollie has defended campaign finance disclosure requirements, challenged fraudulent practices by for-profit colleges and other corporations, and represented San Francisco on issues ranging from reproductive rights to water rights.
